Do not hesitate staying here

Kentyn Reynolds - Thursday, December 06, 2012

Recently totally renovated; large, attractively decorated 4-story facility; elevators; inside hallway access to fully equipped rooms, some with balconies; large bathroom with shower; mini-refrigerator; very convenient, nicely landscaped, quiet location just off of Rte. 1 at the south edge of Carmel; Carmel Mission close by and downtown Carmel only minutes away; on-site restaurant; small shopping area with restaurants and other conveniences across the road; outdoor pool/hot tub; very friendly and helpful staff; fairly priced for the quality. read more...

Great Hotel, definite Value in a pricey area

Kentyn Reynolds - Thursday, December 06, 2012

Happily surprised with this hotel. Our $150 rate seemed too good to be true, but so happy we stayed. Rooms are nice sized, good amenities, all modern comforts. We had a window facing the courtyard, great view. The grounds are very nice, outdoor dining, fire pit, gardens, and pool area. Across the street is shopping center with several restaurants, boutique stores, all walking distance. I will definitely stay there again, only a few miles from downtown Carmel. read more...

Amazing Motel

Kentyn Reynolds - Thursday, December 06, 2012

A really friendly greeting at reception was efficient and helpful, as were all the staff at the Carmel Mission Inn. Really good value in such a beautiful part of the world. The rooms are massive, the size you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The fire pit in the outdoor terrace is a novel idea, and contributes to the welcome. The room was fully equipped with iPod dock, good TV, power sockets (don't miss the ones on top the headboard), iron, tea and coffee making facilities. Gorgeous bathroom as well with Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. The restaurant doesn't serve till very late, so we went over the road to the bar and grill which was equally good in terms of service and quality. read more...

Beautiful hotel for a relaxing break

Kentyn Reynolds - Thursday, December 06, 2012

I stayed here for a few nights 3 weeks ago. The hotel itself sits within beautiful grounds although it is not actually in Carmel by the Sea. It is a 20 minute walk to the town. Parking in the town can be a bit problematic or perhaps it was just when I was there. read more...

Enjoyed our stay and can not wait to return!

Kentyn Reynolds - Thursday, December 06, 2012

Lovely hotel, with very nice rooms, large clean bathrooms, and great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi isn't great, so if you don't have 3G, you may have to go to the lobby to get service . We had a pool side room on the 3rd floor with a huge porch. This place was a real find. read more...

Carmel Lights Up for the Holidays!

Kentyn Reynolds - Tuesday, December 04, 2012

Roll out the holly; bring out the tree, and string up the lights! It’s time to celebrate the holiday season in Carmel! Come to the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Junipero Street and join the denizens of Carmel-by-the- Sea at its annual Holiday Tree Lighting on Friday, December 7, 2012. Festivities start at 3:30pm and include a theatrical reading of “’Twas the Night before Christmas,” performances from local school choirs, appearances by Carmel city luminaries, and of course, the big man himself, Santa Clause. Sip on hot chocolate and munch on treats provided by the Red Cross while watching Carmel’s mayor, Jason Burnett, turn the lights on the grand tree.  read more...

2012 - Wish You Were Here! - Photo Contest

Kentyn Reynolds - Saturday, October 20, 2012

Announcing the Winners of the 2012 “Wish You Were Here!” Photo Contest!
After much time and deliberation, our esteemed judges have finally chosen the winners for the First Annual Carmel Mission Inn’s “Wish You Were Here!” photo contest.
We want to thank each person who shared their photos and stories with us. We really do appreciate the time and effort that you put into this contest. Without your participation, this contest would not have been the success that it was!
The judges’ decision process was predicated on two criteria:
1. Quality of the photograph.
2. The short story tying the photograph to the individual’s visit to the Monterey Peninsula.
Let me just say that the judges had a very hard time choosing the winners. There was a wonderful array of photographs and short stories from which to choose! read more...
