After much time and deliberation, our esteemed judges have finally chosen the winners for the First Annual Carmel Mission Inn’s “Wish You Were Here!” photo contest.
We want to thank each person who shared their photos and stories with us. We really do appreciate the time and effort that you put into this contest. Without your participation, this contest would not have been the success that it was!
The Taste of Carmel is held annually to showcase local restaurants and wineries on the Monterey Peninsula. This year the event was held at the Carmel Mission Courtyard and had more than 45 different restaurants and wineries that participated. There was also a silent auction, music, and dancing the entire evening. One of the best things about this year’s Taste of Carmel was all of the amazing costumes and masks that everyone wore for this year’s theme of, “Masquerade Ball.” We invite everyone to watch our video and celebrate an evening of food, wine, and dancing.
Live music, dancing, delicious bratwurst, pretzels, Bavarian chicken, and of course plenty of imported German beer are just a few of the things that make Monterey Bay Oktoberfest one of the great celebrations of the year held September 15-16. The Barnyard Annual Ferrari Event is a celebration of some of the most exotic cars on the planet and is held to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes research. From vintage Ferrari to high-end Lamborghini, this annual event gives everyone an idea of just how many extraordinary cars are proudly displayed here every year. The event is held at the Barnyard shopping center in Carmel, California and all who attend get to try delicious food from various restaurants, as well as local wines from dozens of Monterey County wineries. The Carmel Mission Inn invites you to watch our video of the 20th annual Monterey Winemaker’s Celebration. Each year this celebration gives attendees the opportunity to taste over a 100 different local wines from more than 40 wineries around Monterey County. This year the celebration was held at the Barnyard Shopping Center so there was an abundance of delicious food from various Barnyard restaurants. There was also great live music by local band, “Red Beans and Rice.” This annual event is the perfect place to visit with other wine connoisseurs, meet the winemakers of your favorite wines, and compare and contrast different wines from all over Monterey County.

This annual collector’s car event has over 175 of the most spectacularly engineered and designed hot rod, muscle, sports, and luxury cars on display. Carmelite Monastery which is home to the order of nuns referred to as sisters by the sea, is one of the first Carmelite monasteries on the western coast of the United States. This beautiful building was built in 1931 just off Highway one across from Point Lobos and south of Carmel-by-the-Sea. The gardens that surround the monastery are meticulously maintained by the Carmelite nuns and are full of colorful flowers, fragrant lemon trees, and benches for anyone who wants to sit, relax, and meditate. We invite you to walk the gardens and come view the towering ceilings and soft filtering sunlight of the church.
Carmelite Monastery of Carmel, CA is home to a community of sequestered meditative nuns who live a life of devotion to Jesus Christ through prayer and song. This 81 year old monastery is a spectacular building which contains a lovely cathedral and peaceful gardens that are the perfect place for prayer or reflection. A visit to the Carmelite Monastery mass is a unique experience as the voices of the choir ascend through the cathedral with such clarity and beauty that your find yourself wanting to come back again and again. Public Mass is held six days a week.
