Carmel Mission Inn invites everyone to watch our video of the 2013 Sea Otter Classic. The original event started with 350 athletes and 150 spectators. Today more than 9,000 athletes and 55,000 fans attend the Sea Otter Classic, and the event is regarded as a, “celebration of cycling.” Professional and amateur athletes alike make the annual pilgrimage to Sea Otter to participate in some of the sport’s most competitive and enduring events. Hundreds of pro cyclists, including national, world, and Olympic champions attend Sea Otter to race and meet with fans.
Carmel Mission Inn presents CavalierRescue. The 2013 ” Cavalier Winter Show” was held so that “Show Dogs” could help raise money to rescue fellow Cavaliers in need. All proceeds from the event went to Cavalier Rescue USA, a national non-profit dedicated to helping Cavaliers find happy, healthy homes. The Barnyard Harvest festival held in Carmel, CA was an afternoon full of music and Halloween fun. Local Barnyard merchants opened up their shops and gave candy to kids in colorful costumes, while local Monterey band played some of the greatest Halloween hits. This year’s festival proceeds went to benefit MEarth, an organization that helps teach children about environmental stewardship. Ride 2 Recovery is produced by the Fitness Challenge Foundation in partnership with the Military VA Volunteer Service Office in order to offer assistance to mental and physical rehabilitation programs for our nation’s wounded veterans. For part of this year’s Ride 2 Recovery Golden State Challenge, cyclists started at the Carmel Mission Inn in beautiful Carmel, Ca and rode out along picturesque Highway One where they saw gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean, and rugged California coastline. The Barnyard Annual Ferrari Event is a celebration of some of the most exotic cars on the planet and is held to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes research. From vintage Ferrari to high-end Lamborghini, this annual event gives everyone an idea of just how many extraordinary cars are proudly displayed here every year. The event is held at the Barnyard shopping center in Carmel, California and all who attend get to try delicious food from various restaurants, as well as local wines from dozens of Monterey County wineries. The Carmel Mission Inn invites you to watch our video of the 20th annual Monterey Winemaker’s Celebration. Each year this celebration gives attendees the opportunity to taste over a 100 different local wines from more than 40 wineries around Monterey County. This year the celebration was held at the Barnyard Shopping Center so there was an abundance of delicious food from various Barnyard restaurants. There was also great live music by local band, “Red Beans and Rice.” This annual event is the perfect place to visit with other wine connoisseurs, meet the winemakers of your favorite wines, and compare and contrast different wines from all over Monterey County.

Carmelite Monastery which is home to the order of nuns referred to as sisters by the sea, is one of the first Carmelite monasteries on the western coast of the United States. This beautiful building was built in 1931 just off Highway one across from Point Lobos and south of Carmel-by-the-Sea. The gardens that surround the monastery are meticulously maintained by the Carmelite nuns and are full of colorful flowers, fragrant lemon trees, and benches for anyone who wants to sit, relax, and meditate. We invite you to walk the gardens and come view the towering ceilings and soft filtering sunlight of the church.
